Continental Divide Hike, Aug 28th, 2005

John, Wendy, and I drove through Rocky Mountain Nat Park, and saw an elk near the side of the road...

At ~6:30pm, we hiked up the Continental Divide after passing Winter Park. Soon we were above treeline...

The setting sun unleashed a red glow upon the mountain tops...

And the sun also lit up our faces in red...

The trail kept going along the mountain range, so we stopped at a nearby peak to watch the sunset. It got pretty chilly...

A small portion of the sun still breaks over the choppy, mountainous, horizon...

It got dark and cold pretty quick, but the trail was open and easy to follow all the way back. John ran ahead to stay warm. We got back ~8:30...
